Abstract: Nature Communications is the leading open-access multidisciplinary journal and part of the Nature Research portfolio, which also includes Nature, the leading, international weekly journal of science and a range of Nature branded research journals, as well as several open-access journals, including Scientific Reports and a range of Nature Partner Journals. In this presentation, I will explain the relations between the different Nature Research journals, give a ‘behind-the-scenes’look into the editorial process at Nature Communications and introduce some of our measures supporting open science.
Dr. Nina Meinzer is an Associate Editor at Nature Communications based in the London office. She handles a wide range of manuscripts in the optical sciences but her core areas are nonlinear optics and laser physics. Nina joined the journal in May 2016. She received her degree in physics from the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology in Germany, where she also obtained a PhD studying metamaterials coupled to semi-conductor quantum wells. When she moved to a post-doctoral position at the University of Exeter in the United Kingdom, she first continued her research on the interaction of plasmonic structures and optical emitters before extending her work to microwave metamaterials and antennas.
